Keyboards are a great instrument to
play either for personal enjoyment or as the missing link in most bands.
The great thing about playing keyboards is that you can
get used to hearing what it's like playing along with a band. Most keyboards
come with a backing, which on decent keyboards you’d be hard pushed to
tell that a real band isn’t actually playing with you. It’s a great training
method to get you ready for joining a band. We teach sight reading initially
then move you on to experience what its like as taking the role as a keyboardist
in a band, and how you have to adapt your playing to fit into a group.
We run a large music concert each year for all students to perform with
a live band, so this is a great project to set your sights on and use
as a goal, as well as recording your songs in our studio.
